Shut-up Unto God.

The closet, being shut-up unto God, is the sweetest place, this side of eternity, I have ever known. I have experienced this in the recesses of my home, in hotels and strange cities, in hospitals at odd hours, in the flat lands and the mountains, early in the mornings and in the late hours of the night watch. As I grow in Christ this one thing seems to echo in the chambers of my heart ever louder each day – “I must meet with the Father this day.”

The disciples only asked Jesus (as is recorded) one thing to be taught, “Teach us how to pray.” Yet, and so very sadly, there are extremely few who truly desire such today. And Lord willing, with the grace and mercies He has bestowed upon me, may I be among the few. Shall you be among the few?

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matt. 5:6 ESV
