About a week ago I posted a small article titled, “Don’t Lose Heart“, and after seeing and hearing so much going on, I feel I must leave a few verses here for anyone who might listen and be set free.

We read that in the Bible that in the “last days there will come times of difficulty.” (2 Tim. 3:1-9) The times we are in are without doubt dark, but in comparison nothing as to what is coming. Having said this, I also see so many people exactly as the Scriptures says, “For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning, and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.” (2 Tim. 6, 7) So very sadly, this is getting ever worse day by day. Ladies especially, please hear me, if you spent the same time on the internet as you did in getting alone with God in private prayer and His Word, away from the devices, you would gain so much peace, joy and true understanding. This is not to say we should be blind nor ignorant, but we must be balanced other wise we will suffer the consequences – consequences of fear, anger, bitterness, and worry to name a few will become our captor. (Matthew 6:33 has been a huge help in my life.)

I am not setting out to write a lot here, maybe I will write more later, but I thought I would close with something I just read in one of my seminary books just this morning. I believe the timing is so right, even though written a couple hundred years ago, and is the very problem in our lack of understanding today.

The Spirit is the great illuminator of the soul. We may spread the most momentous and spiritual truths before the mind, the evidence that confirms them may be collected from every source, and poured, as with focussed power, upon the intellect; yet until the Spirit of life and light moves upon the moral chaos, all is darkness, disorder and confusion.” Octavious Winslow, “The Work of the Holy Spirit“, pgs. 11, 12; First published 1840

May the Lord of glory awaken our senses and cause us to obey His spirit.

Amen.
