A Parent’s Instruction
Based around 1^st Timothy 1:5

Little children, let us consider…
A good parent’s instruction and concern,
Although not perfect, but genuine and sincere,
Remember…

“But the goal of our instruction is love
From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

When you feel frustrated and angry,
When you judge falsely a nagging,
When you doubt and fear,
We know, so remember…..

“But the goal of our instruction is love
From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

Little children, let me ask…..
Have you held the dying in your hand,
Or have you seen the skin melt off the bone when burnt?
We have, so remember…..

“But the goal of our instruction is love
From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

Have you witnessed a baby’s life breath leave,
Or have you listened to a grieving mother weep?
Have you seen many a friend perish?
We have, so remember…..

“But the goal of our instruction is love
From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

Have you walked down the hallways of despair,
Or seen the destitute overdose, convulse and spew their fluids?
Have you seen and smelled the rotting flesh of souls forgotten?
We have, so remember…..

“But the goal of our instruction is love
From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

Little children, have you known of your wretchedness before God,
Or have you experienced the conviction of your sin?
Have you but only heard and have yet not known?
We know, so remember…..

“But the goal of our instruction is love
From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

Have you tasted, really tasted of the Savior’s sweetness,
Or have you smelled, really smelled the pleasant aroma of His joy?
Have you yet a heart unfeeling to Christ?
We have known, so remember…..

“But the goal of our instruction is love
From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

Ah, but dear children, take to your heart,
Delay not but one moment, listen diligently here,
Take all of Jesus you dare, no, do so without fear.
We understand, and we know, so remember…..

From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

Have you lived the length of time I have,
Or has your faith been tested a million times over?
Have you failed and gotten back up and pressed forward?
Oh, we know, so remember…

“But the goal of our instruction is love
From a pure heart
And a good conscience
And a sincere faith.”

More than anything, listen intently,
It is for love we instruct, we warn, we give guidance.
Oh little children, come to hear and understand,
For we know, O’ how we know, so remember…..
